Amazon Prime Video has greenlit “Reality Retreat” (working title), a new series that stars major characters from other reality TV franchises as they attend “a high-stakes wellness retreat designed to challenge their identities, relationships, and personal growth.”
The cast includes “Real Housewives” alumni Kenya Moore, Margaret Josephs and Kim Zolciak; former “Selling Sunset” star Christine Quinn; Brittany Cartwright from “Vanderpump Rules” and “The Valley”; Tamar Braxton, the singer-songwriter also known for “Braxton Family Values” and other reality series; former “Bachelorette” stars Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jenn Tran; mother and daughter Julie and Savannah Chrisley from “Chrisley Knows Best” and its spinoffs; and Hilaria Baldwin, wife of Alec Baldwin and star of “The Baldwins,” who also competed on “Dancing With the Stars.”
The official description for “Reality Retreat” reads, “Set in a tropical location, the series follows a group of women whose lives in the spotlight have made them icons, villains and tabloid fixtures. Removed from their comfort zones, they embark on an immersive experience centered on healing, accountability and transformation. Through intense wellness rituals, unfiltered truth-telling exercises and emotionally charged confrontations, each participant must reckon with who they are beyond their public persona — as chaos, comedy, and catharsis unfold in equal measure. At the retreat, growth is not guaranteed. Old habits resurface, alliances fracture and egos collide. With their place in the experience constantly at risk, each woman must decide whether to embrace evolution, or leave unchanged.”
Several of the “Reality Retreat” cast members have been embroiled in notable scandals. For example, Julie Chrisley and her husband Todd Chrisley went to prison for bank fraud and tax evasion in 2023 before being released following a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. Moore was fired from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for displaying sexually explicit images of her castmate Brit Eady at an event after feuding with her, and has a long-running feud with Zolciak. Cartwright’s explosive divorce from Jax Taylor, who cheated and was sometimes violent toward her, was a major storyline in Seasons 2 of “The Valley.” Baldwin has frequently been accused of cultural appropriation and posturing as Latina or Spanish.
“Reality Retreat” will premiere in 2027, featuring Rich Edwards as “concierge” and Ashley Edelman as “guru and wellness director.” The series is produced by 495 Productions, with SallyAnn Salsano, Kim Green and Frank Miccolis executive producing.
In a statement, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of nonfiction series Jenn Levy said, “Great unscripted television starts with bold, authentic personalities — this series brings together an unforgettable group of women audiences are deeply invested in. By placing them in an environment that strips away expectation and forces real introspection, we’re creating a series that is as emotionally raw as it is entertaining. It’s a wild, honest and oftentimes hilarious ride about identity, reinvention, and what happens when larger-than-life stars are forced to confront themselves… and each other.”
