Even with a “Bloodsport” remake now in the works almost 40 years after the classic that made his name, Jean-Claude Van Damme isn’t done beating the living crap out of people just yet.
The martial arts star and action veteran is set to topline WWII action epic “Raid Pacific, with Steven Luke attached to direct. Coming from Dean Bloxom and Deano Prods., the film is launching in the market in Cannes with VMI Worldwide, which is representing worldwide sales.
Based on true events, “Raid Pacific” is a wartime thriller set in the tense aftermath of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The story follows Captain William Pierce (Van Damme), a decorated U.S.-French submarine commander tasked with a high-stakes mission: to transport a small unit of Marine raiders deep into enemy-controlled waters. Their objective is to destroy a critical Japanese outpost — one that could shift the balance of the war.
The film will be produced by Bloxom of Deano Prods., Luke of Schuetzle Company Prods. and Andre Relis of VMI Worldwide.

Additional casting and production details will be announced in the coming months.
