Akon Wraps a Three-Night O2 Run and Sets His Sights on Paris

Akon finished his three-night run at London’s The O2 this week, closing out a stretch at one of the biggest concert venues on the planet. He’s already pointed at what comes next. Paris is up.

On Instagram, Akon kept it short and loud: “THIRD NIGHT AT THE O2 WAS A VIBE. Y’all were amazing tonight! Paris, up next! #NightsLikeThisTour continues.”

Three consecutive nights at The O2 isn’t a casual thing. The arena holds around 20,000 people per show. Over the years it’s hosted some of the biggest names in live music, from Beyoncé to Ed Sheeran. Filling it once earns you bragging rights. Doing it three nights running is a real statement, and Akon just delivered.

The Nights Like This Tour has been building steam through the spring. The London leg looked like one of the high points so far. The O2 crowd has a reputation for bringing energy back to the stage, and Akon’s post made it clear London held up its end. He didn’t sound like someone going through the motions. He sounded genuinely pumped.

Akon’s been a fixture in music since the mid-2000s. “Lonely” helped put him on the map globally. He followed that up with hits including “Believe” and built a long track record as a collaborator and producer on both sides of the Atlantic. Outside of music, he’s invested heavily in energy infrastructure projects across Africa. Live performance is where his fanbase connection tends to be strongest. Three nights at The O2 puts him in front of a massive combined crowd. Most touring artists don’t reach those numbers in a single stretch.

Paris is confirmed as the next stop on the Nights Like This Tour, and it’s a meaningful city for Akon. He’s consistently drawn strong crowds there, particularly from the Francophone African community. Those fans have been with him a long time. No public date has been locked in yet beyond his own confirmation. Fans in France have been hunting for ticket details ever since.

The tour still has road ahead of it. London gave it three nights of fuel. Now Paris gets its shot.

The O2 finish says something about where Akon stands right now as a live act. Three nights at a world-class arena, crowd energy confirmed. He’s touring well, and the next stop sounds ready for him.
