Tom Burke Joins Gracie Abrams in Halina Reijn’s ‘Please’ for A24

Tom Burke has joined the cast of “Please,” the next feature from “Babygirl” writer/director Halina Reijn and A24.

The British star of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and “The Souvenir” joins Gracie Abrams in the feature, with the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter set to make her acting debut.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for now, but Reijn will write and direct “Please.”

David Hinojosa will produce, re-teaming with Reijn for the third time. Reijn will produce through her MAN UP Film banner, with A24 also producing and financing. Zach Nutman will executive produce.

“Please” also mark Reijn’s third film with A24, following her satirical slasher “Bodies Bodies Bodies” (2022) and her erotic thriller “Babygirl” (2024), which became one of the studio’s biggest global successes and earned $64 million worldwide. A24 additionally acquired her debut feature, 2019’s “Instinct.”

“Please” adds to a growing list of major credits for Burke. On the film front, last year he appeared in Steve Soderbergh’s espionage thriller “Black Bag” and the Cold War era thriller “Winter of the Crow” alongside Lesley Manville. He was recently announced as joining the cast of Alex Garland’s “Elden Ring” video game adaptation, also with A24.

On the TV side, he continues to lead the BBC detective series “Strike” and can currently be seen in Netflix series “Legends” about a real-life undercover mission to infilitrate British drug gangs. Upcoming TV work includes a recurring role in Amazon Prime Video’s sci-fi sequel series “Blade Runner 2099.”

Burke is represented by WME, 360, B-Side, and Public Eye Comms. Reijn is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Abrams is repped by CAA
